Donations to Shimna Valley
The club rides are the backbone of Shimna Wheelers, there is a ride to suit all levels and abilities. Our ethos is everyone gets looked after and no one gets left behind. Of course, coffee and cake in various cafes throughout the county/country is also essential!
Helmets are compulsory on all club rides. Cycling Ireland / CTC Insurance Cover is essential on all Club Rides. New members are entitled to TWO rides before Cycling Ireland / CTC and Club Membership is required. If any member is interested in adding or taking a ride or has any suggestions on the rides please contact our club chairman.

Ideal group for new cyclist - relaxed pace with coffee stop.
No drop ride.
Old Tech carpark Newcastle
MTB/CX (Autumn - Winter)
Road Bike (Spring - Summer) 15-17 mph pace.
No drop ride
Castlewellan Lower Square
16-18 mph pace
Route is generally more challenging.
Usually 50/60 miles with a coffee stop.
No drop ride.
Old Tech carpark, Newcastle
More advanced experience group who train for time trials and road race.
19-22 mph pace
This IS a drop ride!
